There are three permanent faculty members in this department. Sh. Dinesh R. Patel heads the department with 17 years of experience. They are well known for simplifying grand themes of Sanskrit literature with aid of simple words

Sankrit being "Devbhasha" is ancient and both culturally and literary rich language. It attracts students with it’s wide and deep rooted contents. Thus may students opt for Sanskrit as a subject. Sanskrit is also a compulsory subject at U. G. level in first year of studies.

Since the institute possesses a rich library, the students take advantage of it. There are more than 3000 books including reference books and other resources. Many journals are subscribed. The students are helped with various audio visual aids. The department is known for practicing spoken Sanskrit and many students have taken advantage of it. Many 'Nritya Natikas' have been performed every year to promote the subject.
