Faculty Profile - adequacy and competency of faculty

There are two permanent faculty members for the U.G. and P. G. levels. B. F. Makrani—head of the Department with 21 years of experience. He is an M.A. He is the Programme Officer in N.S.S.. Mrs. R. K. Patel is an M. A. with 14 years of experience. The Dept. is served by various visiting faculties few among them are Shri M P Jogarana, Mrs. Daxa Patel.

Student Profile

The students of the Dept. belong to almost all the classes and categories of Society. Majority of them are from the rural area belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. It is noteworthy that it was constant efforts of Dr. K. L. Kapadia—the former principal and well known teacher of economics, which enriched the department.

Learning resources of the department

Since the institute possesses a rich library, the students take advantage of it. There are more than 4000 books including reference books and other sources.6 journals/periodicals/magazines come every month.

The Dept. invites various experts of the subject to help the students enrich their knowledge. The Dept. organized a State-level Seminar in 2007.

There are two full time teaching faculties in Department of Sanskrit.
